Day Twenty-Two: A Website

This prompt is asking me to do something that I just can't do.

Pick a favorite website? Pshaw! You MUST be joking. If you spend as much time browsing online as I do, I have a feeling you'd say the same thing. MM's always wondering what I do while I waste away hours online. To tell the truth, I'm just not sure what the answer is. But I do know that I've found some priceless information that has helped us get through some tough and trying times.

Since I'm such an internet addict, I'll have to share my top five websites. You know, the ones that are always tagged as "Most Visited" on my toolbar up there!

1. Crosswalk - This is my primary reference site for Bible study tools, theological questions and general Christ-centered reading/information.

2. Google Reader - I know, how boring. But honestly, Google Reader has greatly reduced the time I spend hopping around from site to site, checking to see if there is updated content. I like having all my favorites in one place. It's easy to manage and did I say it saves time? Having Google Reader lets me save all my hopping for water aerobics.

3. Facebook - Yes, I will admit it, I'm a Facebook addict. I do sometimes get sick of the drama that is sometimes inevitable, but in general I like being able to socialize with past and present friends. It's really cool to see where everyone is now; like a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year high school reunion. My biggest gripe is when "friends" try to push products or a political/religious agenda on me. That's a one-way ticket to being de-friended or hidden at the very least.

4. Today and Tomorrow - Hmmmm...what do I say about this one? First, it's not for everyone. I check this site multiple times a day for updates. It's really just an opinion blog by a guy named Pieter focusing on what he likes in the worlds of fashion, design, art, architecture, sneakers, music and etc. I always find something interesting there and he's been blogging FOREVER, so there's plenty of cool things to go through. I've found tons of other sites through his blog that showcase some of the things I love most like modern art, modern architecture, contemporary design and shoes!

5. Amazon - Why, yes, I am a shopaholic. But, it's more than that. Living 2.5 - 3 hours from a metropolitan area has left me dependent on Amazon for several of our needs, from entertainment to groceries. What have I purchased from Amazon? A better question may be, "What haven't I purchased from Amazon?" For starters, there's the expected, such as books, dvds, video games and etc. Then there's those other things I rely on Amazon for: Asian groceries, HUGE jugs of olive oil, clothes, shoes, plants, craft supplies and etc. Amazon is like a trip to the mall every day without having to deal with the teeny-boppers.

So, that's my top 5 list of websites. What about you? Can you pick JUST ONE?

Things are fun and fast here. I went back to water aerobics last night thanks to Denise's motivation. (I was going to skip out until she said that she was going to go regardless.) Having something to do the past two nights has really made the week fly by and I can't believe we're already planning this weekend's chores! We're hoping to go again tonight, but there's been storms in the area, so we'll see.

Tomorrow night MM wants us to have a quiet date night, so I'm planning on making Chicken Paillard because it's delicious and super-easy. We'll probably just crack open a bottle of wine and sit out on the front porch and watch the weekend start. If it's raining, we'll probably end up setting up a board game and MM will get his butt kicked again. :)

I <3 Amazon as well. I hope you use a referral link when you buy! I always try to click through someone's blog so they get credit for the purchase. It's a great program if you haven't ever signed up.

I think Facebook, Google Reader, blogging, and gmail are the bulk of my online life!
