Day Twenty-Four: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

For today's post, I thought I'd keep it simple. Mountain Man has been there for me in a lot of ways recently and every day he does something wonderful to make me love him more. So, just off of the top of my head, I've thought of 50 reasons I love him so much.

He:

1. puts God first and me second.
2. loves me. Unconditionally.
3. is loyal to those he loves.
4. does what’s best for us rather than what’s best just for him.
5. wants me to have everything in life that I want.
6. supports all of my hair-brained ideas. Even though I have a history of never following through.
7. wants me to go to water aerobics four nights a week, even though it means he has to live on crock pot meals and leftovers all week.
8. watches stupid Disney Channel shows with me so that I don’t have to worry about violence, gore, sex or cussing.
9. lets me shop endlessly as long as it's in the budget.
10. loves my family and is always happy to spend time with them.
11. goes to the doctor when I’m worried about him, just to show that he cares.
12. is my #1 supporter when it comes to my struggle to get healthy.
13. knows I hate clutter, so he understands when I go on a decluttering spree.
14. wants everything in life that I want.
15. lets me think I “wear the pants”, but is a true, Godly family leader and steps in to take the lead when it’s required.
16. protects me. From everything he can.
17. lets me be an emotional wreck when I need to be.
18. is always there to talk.
19. really hurts when I’m hurting.
20. thinks about all the times I’ve fallen, and instead of laughing, gives me a hug because he hates to see me that way.
21. stops what he’s doing when I’m pestering him for attention.
22. knows how important it is for us to have time apart.
23. doesn’t like to be apart from me even though he knows it’s important.
24. feeds the dogs and waters the garden for me when I’ve had a bad day.
25. helps me clean the house without being asked if he sees me stressed.
26. deals with the fact that I’m so particular about how I like the house to be cleaned.
27. isn’t afraid to admonish me when I need it, even though he knows he’ll have to deal with my "wrath".
28. isn’t worried about the world’s opinion of him.
29. is passionate about what he believes in.
30. humors the fact that I’m irrationally terrified of elephants, bears and bridges over water.
31. doesn’t let me walk all over him. He’s not a pushover and I appreciate that.
32. thinks the things I do are honestly cute, in spite of the fact that the rest of the world would find them incredibly annoying.
33. does whatever he can to provide us with a comfortable life.
34. doesn’t go out of his way to mess up right angles since “if it’s not a right angle, it’s a wrong angle”.
35. doesn’t tease me too relentlessly about #34.
36. plays board games with me even though he really doesn’t like to.
37. subdues his competitive nature because that’s not what I’m used to.
38. doesn’t fight dirty.
39. wants me to be a part of all aspects of his life.
40. is my best friend.
41. doesn’t recoil in shock when I’m completely honest with him.
42. eats everything I cook and, for the most part, likes it.
43. goes out of his way to make me happy.
44. tells me my snoring is “cute”, when I know that it probably isn’t.
45. lets me sleep as late as I want on Saturdays and even waits until I’m awake to make breakfast.
46. makes skillet eggs for breakfast every Saturday for us without a moment’s hesitation.
47. doesn’t complain when I have a sleepless night and I leave the light on because I’m reading.
48. comforts me when I have nightmares, regardless of what time it is or what he has to do the next day.
49. lets me voice my opinion on typically “manly” topics, even if my opinion is ridiculous and uninformed.
50. understands and deals with the fact that I probably should have been a wanderer since I hate being in the same place too long.
51. doesn't believe that divorce will ever be a viable option. He's seen the ugly side of divorce and made a promise to himself, and later to me and God, that he would only marry once, and that time for keeps.
52. let’s me love him in my own way.

Finally Blogging Again

It was pointed out to me today that I hadn't blogged since Monday. (Thanks, Mom ;)) What an anomaly! Life was throwing me some curve balls and, while I'm still not completely through them, I know God will see me through. I've got lots of family and friends interceding on my behalf and I've put this in His hands. I know that there is a reason for all of this and I trust Him.

The Lord did remind me that He is in charge of everything by sending us a little snowstorm yesterday. Most of the snow is gone, but it certainly brightened my day and blessed our dry land with about an inch of precipitation. Here's me, after work, smiling, for a change!

I took this one of the courthouse across the street from my office at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday. It was just starting to accumulate then. This morning, everything was white.

Here's the back yard. Thank goodness yesterday was my workout day of rest! It was coooold!

And Toby. Poor Toby. He LOVES to play in the snow, but hates when it's coming down. He wanted to be inside all night.

I have tons more I want to post about. I finally downloaded all our pics from Thanksgiving at my parents' and I had such a great time that I really want to share! I might be a bit sporadic with my posting, though. Jason and I are continuing our "Santa Clause" marathon and are watching #3 tomorrow night. The Spurs are playing Friday night, so I'm sure I'll have blogging time during the game.

One last thing for the day. Jason has been so incredibly understanding since my "emotional distress" started. He is truly my best friend. Sometimes I'm astonished at how much songs mirror real life for myself and many others. Jason Mraz is one of my new favorite artists and his song "Lucky" perfectly describes my Jason and I right now.

Do you hear me? I'm talking to you
Across the water, across the deep, blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm tryin'.

Boy I hear you, in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me, in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard.

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

They don't know how long it takes
Waitin' for a love like this.
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you, I promise you I will.

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday.

And so I'm sailing through sea
To an island where we'll meet.
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair.

Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty, you're all I see.
As the world keeps spinnin' round,
You hold me right here right now.

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday.

Yep. That's our love! Sorry to be sooo terribly mushy. It's just how I'm feeling right now. Lol!

As always, thanks for reading and good night!
