I'm baaaaack!

Are you scared? Well, you shouldn't be!

I'm so happy to be back to my "healthy", normal self. Last week was really trying for me with a monster sinus infection and upper respiratory infection attacking my every intention. I attempted to pull myself together and go to work on Wednesday, but my conscience (hubster) thought it better that I continued to rest. It was a good thing I listened to him because Wednesday afternoon hit me like a freight train and I was back in bed for the rest of the week. Today is my third day back at the office and I'm feeling 100% better and have been getting a lot done, both around the house and on the job.

So, let's see. It seems to me there might be some unfinished business to attend to. Oh, that's right! The 100th post scarf giveaway. As it turns out, only two people entered. I'm not disappointed or surprised; it was my first post after a two-month blogging hiatus. So, since I couldn't bear to randomly select just one of the two entrants, both Jenna from Jenna's Journeys and Michelle from 5 Little Wolfs will be receiving a crocheted-by-me scarf in the near future. I know both IRL, so instead of a scrap-scarf, each will receive a scarf tailored to her. I am finishing up a swap on Craftster and will be sending that out by the end of next week. After that, I'll be shopping for some gorgeous yarn and the perfect patterns. I'm really excited and hope that Jenna and Michelle will be, too! (I'll contact each of you as your scarf is finished to find out where to send it.)

In other news...

Hubster and I have been budgeting and budgeting and talking and prioritizing and we think we've got the next year-and-a-half planned out barring any surprises. First on the agenda is paying off the rest of our consumer debt. By March of next year, everything besides our student loans and our house will be paid off! Woohoo! After that, we're planning on re-siding the house (it desperately needs it), building a new workroom/shed for hubster (so that his current workroom can be transformed into a nursery *squee*) and finally, saving up to pay cash for a new vehicle in 2011. Throw in a week-long trip to Corpus to see his brother graduate and visit his family and another week-long trip to Branson, MO with my family and we'll have a SUPER-FULL year! I know that some may find it ludicrous for us to plan like this, but I'm a planner. I need to have a goal in mind and work in steps towards that goal. It is how we've accomplished what we have so far. Surprises are a possibility and tend to come up, but Murphy's Law doesn't seem to apply when you're prepared for it.

Now that I've typed all of that out, I'm super excited about what 2010 holds for my honey and I!

Blessings to you and yours!

100th Post...and something extra for you!

I've been putting off posting this for a while. I think the main reason is that it is my 100th post and I felt like I should have something great to post. Well, I don't. :) Life right now is wonderfully enjoyable and I've been far too blissed-out to bother coming around. That's not to say that I've forgotten my blogging friends. I still come back daily to see what everyone's been posting about, I just haven't posted myself. So, I've just decided to come and get it over with. It's high time I get past the high expectations I've given myself about this milestone and just get through it!

We've fallen into Fall quite nicely and I'm really ready for the chilly weather that keeps me curled up on the sofa, crocheting away. Our vacation to Ruidoso, NM with the family was wonderful and I really can't wait to share some of the great pictures that we took. I may do that this weekend, but then again, I may not. I started the baking of the pumpkin-fortified desserts and breads, so Jason is really loving things right now. This weekend, though, will be dessert and bread-free so that I can get back on track with my weight loss program. I haven't done too well, what with the vacation, family visiting and being out of town for work. It's just a minor setback, though, and I know where I stand and what I need to do.

Oh, yeah, there was another reason I'm posting now. My crochet hooks have been pulled out of hiding and are now ready and raring to go for the new scarf season. That being said, I'm giving away a hand-made by me scarf! Just leave a comment letting me know what your favorite thing about fall is, and I will select a random winner on October 9th. Please be sure to leave me some way to get a hold of you if you win, whether that be an email address or a link to your blog. Just an FYI, the scarf hasn't been started yet, but it will be a "crazy scarf" using several different yarns and possibly several different stitches. They're a lot of fun and really can be worn with anything, so that's why I like making them!

Okay, now to get back to work! As always, thanks for reading and I hope you're having a blessed day!

Be on the lookout...

Coming soon! I will be, in the very near future, doing a wonderful give away. One of my favorite Etsy sellers, who has been featured on my "Handmade Favorites" before, has generously offered to donate an item for me to give away! I'm super excited about this, but will offer no further details until everything is set in stone.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
