Recently MM has really been encouraging me to consistently post on my blog. He sees what a joy it is for me to do and is so supportive of that. While mulling around ideas for what I should post about, I realized that it would be neat to have him do some guest posts for me. I think it'll be great for you to see The Simple Life of The Stars from his perspective! So, here's his first post for you. Enjoy!!
MM here. KP (Kimberpeas) asked me to do a guest blog on occasion to get my perspective on life. For my first, I will list ten thoughts about being a Daddy.
- Before Bunny was born, other parents loved telling me how hard it was going to be; the lack of sleep, and the diapers, etc. They wanted me to be so surprised. I get it. They poop a lot. It is not a shock. I knew babies ate at night when I was 10 years old. Leave me alone already.
- Having stated that, I had know I idea I could function on so little sleep!
- I think there is a problem in this country in which parents want to be praised for taking care of their children. You’re supposed to take care of your kids. Quit patting yourselves on the back for it.
- I believe Bunny knows the exact moment we sit down to eat or go to sleep at night. She takes it as a personal insult and chooses these times to start crying.
- I knew babies fought sleep. I didn’t know they started their first week. That is something another parent could have warned me about.
- I have never been known as an emotional man, but when my daughter smiles at me, my heart and mind become flooded.
- Her purity and innocence remind me of my faults. They make me want to be a better person.
- I look at parental advice like I look at marriage advice; I am the only person on earth who knows what it takes to be married to KP and to be a Daddy to Bunny, so stop telling me what I should do. I don’t need advice, I need sleep.
- Children are a Blessing, even at 3 a.m.
- Before Bunny was born: I used to hang out with my buddies, I was in a band, I had hobbies, and KP and I would travel on a whim. Memories can be good. I like the present time better.
God Bless.
