I decided I needed a reality check today. I'm freaking out about all that still has to be done to get the nursery ready in time for baby. We have, basically, 20 weekends left and will be out of town for 6 of those weekends.
Back in January, I posted this list. Let's see how we're doing!
1. DONE! Buy camcorder (a priority for MM), laptop (so we can get rid of our huge desktop PC to make more room), and an air mattress (for all those guests to-come and since we're going to get rid of the guest bed to make more room).
2. DONE! Clean out the guest bedroom including my closet since MM and I will have to share now. Have a "dump day" to get rid of all the old stuff that can't be sold/used again.
3. IN PROGRESS (Just have some more closet organization and the carpet to clean.) Clean the guest room from top to bottom, including cleaning the carpets.
4. IN PROGRESS (The crafting stuff is all moved, but MM had a lot more "junk" than I realized and the nursery is still full of stuff. Move all of our crafting stuff from the nursery to the new crafting/guest room.
I forgot one step - spackle, sand, and clean the walls.
5. Remove all trim in the nursery.
We recently decided the windows in the house need to be replaced, so the nursery window is the first one in line.
6. Prime & paint nursery, new trim, and new doors.
7. Rip out the old carpet and have the new installed. We've decided to go with self-installed laminate instead.
8. Install new ceiling fan, crown moulding, floor boards, and new doors.
9. IN PROGRESS (The crib has been purchased and is in my sisters' storage unit until they come see us in April.) Buy crib, changing table, glider, and closet organization system and set all of it up.
10. IN PROGRESS Wait for baby!!
So I guess it's not too bad, but there's so much of it that I can't do. I hope it's all going to come together soon. I'm getting anxious!! My dear dad is coming soon to help MM get some of the stuff done, and my sisters, Crowbar and Munky are coming in April for a visit, so I hope I can talk them into doing some trim painting for us.
I know that this is all possible and WILL get done, but I can't help but press the PANIC button every time I walk by Princess Gummi's room and see that it's not progressed as much as I want.
I will take it one weekend at a time and try to remember to breath!!
