If you're still checking to see if I've been blogging, you're probably wondering that very thing, "Where are they now?". Well first, I must apologize for keeping you all out of the loop. It has been over a month since my last post and that was just a "Wordless Wednesday" post at that. Sorry.
MM, Bunny, and I, plus the doggage, of course, are finally living under one roof in the same city again. We were blessed beyond measure to have free, comfortable (well, for Bunny and I) places to stay, but that 3 months of living apart was horrible. We found our solace in the fact that we knew it wasn't permanent and also in knowing that we had it EASY compared to our brave military families out there.
So, how did it all happen? Well, the Monday after we closed on our house in West Texas, Bunny and I drove straight to our hotel in East Texas for a bit of house-hunting. We knew that it would be difficult to find and secure a house in the short amount of time we had to do so that week, but what do you know, God came through as He always has. He blessed us with the perfect little house for the five of us. We actually have over 400 sq. ft. more than we did in our old house and that's not including the two-car garage. (All we had before was a carport.) It really is the ideal home for us and you would hardly believe how peaceful and quiet our neighborhood is.
We have been there just over two weeks and are settling into a family routine. I just love the sound of our house humming along. While we still have a few non-essential boxes to unpack and lots of pictures to hang, it definitely feels like home and we are so grateful that it was available for us. Not to mention the relief that renting a home has brought us since we don't have to worry about all of the responsibilities of home-ownership.
MM loves his job as much today as he did when he started 3 1/2 months ago. It keeps him busy and is a fun challenge for him. It is a great joy to me to see him so much happier with his work. Bunny is ecstatic to be able to see her Daddy every night again. While I know she loved it at Papaw's and Mimi's, she is so much more calm and content when her Daddy is around. I am "getting there". Slow, but sure. I honestly do love our location and proximity to all kinds of things we didn't have out in the boonies of West Texas, but my anxious mind and worry-wart nature have been in full throttle since the day we signed the lease. Lots of prayer, support from MM, and soothing breaths seems to really be helping and I'm becoming more confident in our situation every day.
So that's where we are now. I don't know when/if I'll be back, but I do miss my little blog, even if nobody ever reads it besides MM and my Mom. (Hi, Mom!) I'm hoping once we settle in and really establish a routine that there will be time for me to sit down, even if it's just once a week, and get all the words that live inside my head out. Until then, God Bless, and thank you for reading!
