Recovering

In spite of our best efforts to avoid it, we experienced our first illness with Bunny.  The poor darling had a double ear infection last weekend.  Not only that, but MM and I were also sick, sick, sick.  Mine was a fairly minor cold that has completely passed, Bunny had a course of antibiotics and is back to her old, snot-free self, and poor MM got the worst of it and had to visit the doctor today.  We joked that maybe he should start drinking my breast milk since it had protected Bunny and myself fairly well.  (Bunny from drinking it and me from producing it.)  He's definitely on the mend, though, without resorting to raiding Bunny's stash!

I have to brag on Bunny for a bit.  For being so ill, she was AMAZING!  She smiled and laughed through it all, even though she was pretty miserable.  She was snotty non-stop resulting in numerous torture sessions requiring saline nose drops and the bulb syringe.  Our brave little Bunny would fuss through them and then give us a big smile the minute we finished.  The poor thing had to sleep in her swing since the drainage was too much for her to sleep through and she took it like a champ.  She slept just as much as usual and didn't seem to mind the change of scenery a bit.  Her antibiotics clearly tasted awful, but she just grinned and beared it for 10 whole days!  We are so proud of how she handled her first real illness.  And we were also happy that it came so late, right around her three-month birthday, instead of being an illness that could have been a big threat had it come at one or two months.

Speaking of three-month-olds, here she is the day after her three-month birthday (we were all too miserable to do it the day off).  Again, she was a real trooper and tolerated Mommy snapping away when all she wanted to do was play.

Since everyone is better or on the mend, we are now officially looking forward to Bunny's first Thanksgiving.  Papaw, Mimi, Auntie Crowbar, and Auntie Munky are coming out to celebrate with us and we are so excited to be together!
