It's been a while since I've posted and it'll probably be a while before I post again, but oh well. That's how I roll.
Since I posted last, we had a great trip to Round Rock/San Antonio to visit the family and celebrate my grandparents' 50th Wedding Anniversary. How awesome is that?! Part of the family's gift to them was a portrait session with all 18 of us in Gruene. I cannot WAIT to see the pics!! The talented Stephanie Briggs was our photographer. She did our wedding pics, so I know everything will be beautiful. We also had dinner at the Grist Mill, a family-wide favorite, and then headed to my grandparents' house for coffee, dessert and a lively round of "Battle of the Sexes" with the whole fam. The males thought the game was rigged or HAD to have been developed by a female, and I'm inclined to agree, but it was fun regardless.
This weekend finds me getting ready for a trip out of town for work and MM going fishing. While he's gone I get to set up our new financial software, which I really, really am excited about! (What a nerd!)
We've just been trucking along lately. Some hard decisions were made recently, the main one being that we are not going to go on the family vacation to Branson, MO. It's just not the right time of year since we'll be in Corpus Christi two weeks before. We're really bummed about it, but we know it's for the best. We don't want to give the wrong impression to our employers. We also came to the realization, after doing our income tax return, that we just make way too much money to be taking this much time to pay off our debt. Taking the Branson trip out of the budget speeds up the debt pay-down by a considerable amount and will free up more money for doing the trips almost limitless-ly in the future. My facebook status the day after we made this decision says it all; "Sometimes being a responsible adult really stinks!"
Well, that's it for now! Tonight is date night and I'm really looking forward to it. We're headed to our favorite "local" restaurant tonight and it'll be the last time for a while. We're moving on to the "beans and rice" mentality after tonight to free up more dough for debt payment.
So I'll leave you for now. Hope all is well in your world! Blessings to you and yours!
