If you were given the opportunity, what would your dream job be? I know several people who are probably carrying out their life's calling through their work. You know those people. The ones who talk about their job with notable enthusiasm regardless of the situation. Then there are the others. The many, many others, who are working at jobs that, while enjoyable, are not their passion. I fall into that latter category. I have a great job that I'm very grateful for, but it's not what I dreamed about doing as a teenager.
My first pick would be to be able to stay at home with children. But since I'm not able to stay home yet, and more importantly, there's no children there to look after, my dream job would be to open a professional event planning service, with weddings being my primary focus. I think it would be just amazing to immerse myself in the wedding industry full-time. Of course that means being on the job most weekends and having to work some evenings to meet with those busy brides, but it would be worth it. Being such a big part of the day when two people become as one would be such a huge blessing. The different shades of white, roses or lilies, string quartet or swing band. Those are fun decisions to make.
I will keep on dreaming my dream, as I have for a very long time. Maybe one day I'll even take the American Academy of Wedding Professionals' Wedding Planning Course and get certified.
So, what about you? What is your dream job?
