Handmade Favorites; Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Jason and I are having a great time on our "getaway". Right now we're lounging around watching the NBA All-Star events. It is beyond awesome and the epitome of a perfect date for us. We're having a lot of fun shopping and just doing things we can't do in town.

I hope you're all with someone you love and are enjoying this day. I know I am! I'm bringing you the totally apropos Valentine's favorites this week.

The first favorite was crafted by a wonderful man, my hubby. I woke up this morning, stepped into the bathroom to shower, and when I got out, this was waiting for me. Don't you all want one?! Isn't he a sweetie?

Now, on to the REAL crafty favorites!

Melissa at MyIssaG's Crochet crochets these wonderful dish cloths out of 100% cotton yarn. This one is The Love Collection Crocheted Dishcloth Set and features three dish cloths in three love-filled colors! Just from the pictures, you can tell what a consistent crochet this is and that it will definitely hold up to daily use. The colors are so much fun! These are definitely going on my wish list!

These Quivering Hearts Earrings are a beautiful one-of-a-kind by Mona at artwearbymona. They are made to order out of argentium sterling silver. They are somehow modern and old-fashioned at the same time. I see these and imagine spring garden parties and date nights by the ocean! They're just adorable and I'm sure you can all tell what skill it takes to craft pieces such as these.

GILDBookbinders makes these fabulous vintage-style journals. The Small Red Heart Journal is created from top-quality materials. There are 156 pages, front and back, to fill with love poems and romantic sketches. I'm truly in love with these and would love to be able to end my day with a few minutes to write in them. My only concern would be finding something fitting to write in such a beautiful journal.

Grey and pink is one of my favorite combos. That combo is carried off amazingly by Ida at Artsfarm in her Rose Quartz Heart Necklace. A 2 1/4" rose quartz heart pendant is topped off with beautiful grey freshwater pearls and swarovski crystal and sterling silver accents. This classy AND edgy piece would be a welcome addition to my jewelry box. Ida seems to have a knack for creating beautiful jewelry, as evidenced by this and other items in her shop.

If my favorite color is red, my second favorite color is pink. This next item features both of my favorite colors and is just FAB! This Happy Valentine's Day sign by Denise at Hung On Words is really adorable! I've seen plenty of hand-painted signs on Etsy, but Denise's are all perfect. It is really difficult to get the paint to do just what you want to and she succeeds! I can see this sign hanging by my desk at work, hanging in the entry of the house or hanging in the guest bedroom! It's the cutest way I've seen to shout, "Happy Valentine's Day" to the ones you love.

White lampwork and red swarovski beads join together in this beautiful bracelet that will get your wrist noticed! Candi from Be Jeweled By Candi created this Valentine's Day Love Bracelet and I believe that it is stunning in its simplicity. Red and white is a classic color combo, but looks new and fresh here. Those white lampwork foil beads are mezmerising and I can't stop staring at them!

Everything so far has been wonderful; superb in quality and aesthetic, but I have saved the best for last. Jen at Baby White Elephant is an artistic genius, in my book. This awe-inspiring Real Rose Wire-Wrapped Ring is an ACTUAL rose that is coated with polyresin. Isn't it gorgeous? Take a closer look. Doesn't the veining in the petals look like glitter? Jen has taken nature's beauty and preserved it and turned it into this beautiful ring. Don't you all want one now?

I probably spent a little too much time searching for my baked favorite for this week, but that's okay. I love sweets and I love Valentine's Day, so I wanted to pay it ample respect. This wedding cake is a whimsical ode to M & M's by Dahlia at Dahlia's Cakes. Come on. Who wouldn't love to get a slice of this on their plate at the next wedding they attend? This is fantastic and I love it in all its sugary beauty!
